Dougie the lamber comes to Lochdhu at lambing time every year. He spends all of the Spring visiting different farms for about a month at a time, living on the farm and working from dawn till dusk looking after the sheep and lambs. Dougie's day starts very early in the morning, it is only six o'clock but Dougie is having his breakfast getting ready for the day ahead. That is yesterdays paper he is reading since this is the only chance he gets to read anything at this time of year and it is too early to get todays.

| Dougie always ensures he has a good breakfast before he starts in the morning, he has got a lot of heavy work to do before he gets a tea break at ten O'clock.Some good old toast and Scottish Marmalade go down a treat after his cereal. Farmer Bob is probably still sound asleep at this time (he does the very late shift at night) so Dougie manages all the early work himself.

|
First job is to unleash the dog who immediately jumps onto the bike. He knows that Dougie is going to have a look around all of the fields at the sheep and lambs which have already been put outside. The four wheel motorbike comes in really handy for this as there is a lot of area to cover. Dougie has already filled up the feed trailer and attached it to the bike.

| And they are off. Whoops mind the gate! It looks a cold damp day today but it is so early in the morning that it may brighten up yet - here's hoping. There is nothing worse than having to tend hundreds of lambs outside in rainy weather. Dougie is dressed for the bad weather though.
